Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026

This is my personal website. It has no accounts, no logins, no comment system, and no shop. There is very little to collect, and I don't sell or share anything I do collect. This page explains exactly what happens when you visit.

Who is responsible

Johnny Fekete, an individual based in Barcelona, Spain, is the data controller for johnnyfekete.com. You can reach me at hello@johnnyfekete.com about anything on this page.

What is collected

Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. It records things like the pages you view, approximate location derived from your IP address, referring site, browser, device type, and language. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to recognise repeat visits. I use this only in aggregate, to know which posts and pages are worth writing more of. I never use it to identify individual visitors.

Server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes request data such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL to serve the page and protect the site from abuse. This is standard hosting infrastructure data and I don't use it for anything else.

Email. If you email me, I keep your message and address in my mailbox so that I can reply and keep track of the conversation. That's it — no mailing list, no CRM, no automated follow-ups.

There is no advertising network on this site, no retargeting pixel, no session recording, no heatmapping, and no fingerprinting beyond what Google Analytics does by default.

Legal basis and retention

Under the GDPR, I rely on legitimate interest to run basic analytics and keep the site online, and on your own initiative when you choose to email me. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's default retention settings; email correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful to the conversation and deleted when it isn't.

Third parties

  • Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) — traffic measurement.
  • Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and security.

Pages on this site link out to YouTube, Substack, LinkedIn, X, GitHub, Instagram, the App Store, and Google Play. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link. The Actor page embeds YouTube players directly, so YouTube receives a request — and may set its own cookies — as soon as that page loads.

Your choices

You can block analytics entirely with a browser setting, an extension, or Google's opt-out add-on. The site works exactly the same with analytics blocked. If you're in the EU or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your personal data, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email me and I'll handle it — there is no form to fill in.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. There is no version history, because there is not much here to version.
